Flaneur was also a typey Trakehner stallion, displaying a large, intelligent eye, a fine and slightly dished nose, and a large distinctive jaw. He possessed a calm and imperturbable temperament which he passed on to his descendants.
His conformation constituted the high-class model of Trakehner stallion type: ideally attached neck, shoulders correct in length, well-positioned and muscled, ideally constructed with respect to saddle position, and a strong topline.
At his stallion performance test in Westercelle, he imparted an impressive athletic impression with light footed, ground covering movement, and the extraordinary ability to extend.
Notable offspring include: Troubadour (qualifying for the Seoul Olympic Games under Christine Stuckelberger); Avigon II; Arogno, Partout, and the Pr. St. (State's Premium) mare Maharani II (dam of the great sires Mahagoni, Marlon and Mackensen). [excerpts from Feb 2002 article in Trakehner Hefte, translated by Helen K. Gibble] |
